Countryside is excited to kick-off another Winter Market season this Saturday!
Even throughout the winter, fresh produce is the backbone of the market. Area farms bring a bounty of both hardy storage crops and freshly harvested items.
Sustainably raised meats – beef, pork, poultry, even goat (!) – farm fresh eggs, handcrafted cheese, baked goods, jams, coffee, tea, fresh pasta, cured
meats, and more, round out the food selection. Handmade gifts, such as jewelry, soaps and body products, handcarved spoons, stained glass art and crocheted
items, are also available.
Regular market goers of Countryside’s markets at Howe Meadow and Highland Square will recognize many faces, but this year, Countryside is also pleased
to welcome new businesses to the mix as well. Crown Point Ecology Center (bringing a variety of organic vegetables), Lucky Penny Creamery (offering
a variety of cow, sheep and goat cheeses) and Fine Art Findings (featuring artful upcycled boxes, mirrors and jewelry) will be participating throughout
the season. Bradwood Farms and Tyler’s Farm will be joining us in 2017 to bring their hydroponic greens and other selections. Visitors should also
come hungry; Old Trail School and McCoy's Custom Catering will be serving breakfast in the cafeteria and The Square Scullery will be parked out front
to cook up some delicious and filling dishes.
Countryside is excited for the special events coming in the season. In partnership with various area yoga studios and instructors, Countryside is offering
CommUNITY Yoga Play, starting on November 19th. Instructors will lead a playful and peaceful
60-minute all-level community yoga class from 9am-10am. On December 10th, Countryside and Old Trail School will host their first-annual
Pancake Breakfast in support of the market.
