Countryside Farmers' Market Opportunities!

21-Mar-2018

Countryside is gearing up for an exciting 2018 season. Want to be more involved? We have some great opportunities for you!

~ Farmers' Market Culinary Intern ~

Countryside Farmers’ Markets will host weekly cooking demonstrations, Cooking at Countryside, to engage and inspire customers relative to in-season produce and market products. Cooking at Countryside recipes/methods should be simple and easy, requiring only basic knowledge of cooking and basic kitchen equipment. Recipes/methods should highlight the bounty of the current season, with a focus on lesser known produce varieties and other products.

~ Cheesemonger Volunteer ~

Countryside is embarking on a cheese adventure this season. We will be sourcing cheeses direct from Ohio producers for sale at Countryside Farmers' Markets and events. We are looking for a handful of volunteers to staff the cheese tent.

Schedule:
Saturdays, 8:15am to 12:30pm, at Howe Meadow
Every Saturday is not required, but we are asking that you commit to at least 5 Saturdays throughout the season. More than 5 is fine too! Date selection is first-come, first-serve.

Key Skills:
Excellent customer service
Accurate cash handling
Passion for cheese, definitely a plus!

If you are interested, please email Erin at emolnar@cvcountryside.org to schedule a brief interview.

~ Zero Waste Volunteer ~

Are you passionate about lowering the amount of garbage our community sends to the landfill? Are you interested in learning which items can actually be recycled or composted?

The Zero Waste volunteer force is for you!

Every Saturday at the Countryside Farmers' Market at Howe Meadow, volunteers will help customers learn which receptacle to deposit their trash. (You do not need to touch or sort trash like Erin did all last summer!)

We have a Zero Waste training session on April 3rd!

For more information about this opportunity or to attend the training, email Serena at sjones@cvcountryside.org or Annie at apreston@cvcountryside.org.
