Countryside kicks off its 16th year of hosting farmers’ markets in Cuyahoga Valley National Park this year on April 20 with Opening Day of the Countryside Farmers' Market at Howe Meadow!
Every Saturday from 9am-12pm through October 26, Countryside will bring dozens of Northeast Ohio’s best farmers and food producers to 4040 Riverview Road in Peninsula. This season 73 vendors, including 12 new ones, will be participating in the market selling fresh, seasonal, local produce as well as meats, cheeses, eggs, grains, baked goods, handcrafted gifts and much more.
Celebrate Earth Day with us during the first market of the season by bringing food scraps to drop off for composting with Full Cycle Organics (fees waived on April 20) and checking out our new Co-Bags program aimed at reducing waste through sharing and reusing shopping bags. Countryside farmers’ markets are zero-waste events.
In addition to shopping direct from local producers, you can enjoy live music, a weekly cooking demonstration, or participate in “Yappy Hour” by bringing your furry friend along to shop from 11am-12!
Don't forget! You can use credit cards at the information booth to purchase market tokens that never expire and can be used with any vendor at any Countryside farmers’ market. Sign up for Local Loyalty, our frequent shopper program, to earn rewards for shopping with us. All Countryside farmers’ markets also accept the Ohio Direction Card and offer a program called Produce Perks, which provides matching dollars up to $20 for fresh, locally-grown fruits and vegetables each visit for SNAP users. Starting June 1 (until funds run out) Countryside will also be offering Carrot Cash to customers presenting a WIC card at the information booth – every visit to any Countryside Farmers’ Market WIC participants can receive $5 for fresh fruits and vegetables. Countryside also accepts WIC and Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program Vouchers.
